October trip

Well we were able to make the fall trip this year. We trailer our motorcycles to Sapphire Valley NC, where we stay at Wyndham time share. We had perfect weather for riding but the traffic on the main roads was really crazy. There were people that met Jan in his lane a few times and once some guy passed on double yellow in a curve and was almost a disaster. We found Hwy 281 north of Cashiers and it was just what we wanted. The color was beautiful and curves were nice and easy with the exception of a few 10 mph ones. We rode Thursday and Friday for several hours then had a late lunch at The Cornucopia Rest in Cashiers. The restaurant was very popular with locals and leaf lookers. The food was excellent and the service as well.
Saturday morning we saw 4 different waterfalls in the area. Whitewater Falls is the tallest in the Southeast and was just a short walk to it. Then on to Rainbow Falls and just 1/4 mile past it was Turtleback Falls. The hike to these was rather exhausting for this poor girl, and I thought I was in decent shapeđź‘Ž not...
