Life goes on day after day

Well it's been a while since I blogged. I seem to stay really busy, which is a good thing. I still try to exercise at lest 3 times a week and try to eat somewhat healthy. With the holidays what can you do? I love Thanksgiving and all the casseroles and turkey. I ate way too much. I love keeping my grand children, its almost like heaven being with them. :) Austen is with me every weekday and Jonas comes a few times a week. I love them so much. Recently we spent 5 days in Daytona and all the girls came down with kids and Patrick. We also had Taylor V. come and stay a couple of nights. We enjoyed lots of good food there also. Loved our view of the beach and the ocean air. We loved seeing Caroline also, another favorite "daughter" of Jan and mine. Gotta go now. later :)

Trike trip to finish the Natchez Trace Parkway

We left July 8th headed for Cherokee, Alabama. We spent the night in Tuscaloosa and was able to see some of the tornado destruction. incredible...
We drove into the corner of Mississippi and and got on the Natchez Trace Parkway and rode through the corner of Alabama and on into Tennesee. We stopped at several places of interest. We saw a couple of water falls and I felt like jumping in because I was so hot. We fininshed the ride after several hours. We drove across Tennesee on a scenic highway and then into Georgia. We stayed on 129 all the way home. We took an off rode trip to Helton Water Fall which was really pretty.

Natchez Trace Parkway Trike Trip 2011

Jan and I left on the 7th of April for Cherokee, Alabama. We stayed in Tuscaloosa the first night and then went on up to get on the parkway the next day. The weather was nice and sunny most of the time. Once it sprinkled a little, I was glad it never really rained. We had planned to spend the night in Cherokee, get up the next morning and begin he journey but there was no hotels there so we got on the parkway and headed south.

November at the beach

The weather in Dayton during the month of November was great for the beach. Me, Jan and the girls, plus Jonas, spent a little time going to different restaurants.
Some of our favorites were: Aunt Catfish's, Bubba Gumps and Inlet Harbor.
Of course I can't forget the most important event in November and that was Jonas' 2nd birthday. We had a party for him with cupcakes and balloons. We got him a John Deer tractor and trailer. January and Patrick decorated the fence in honor of him.
Of course both of his aunts were there to help celebrate. Which reminds me of my new granddaughter, Austen Avery. We are waiting patiently for her arrival around May 8, 2011.

Oct, Nov. and December 2010 catching up

I have not posted since Septmeber so I am going to try to catch up a little. We made our fall trip as usual. We drove the truck and trailed the trike. We stayed in our time share in Seviervill. We rode the trike through Cades Cove and saw some pretty color. I love the fall colors and we had nice weather which was great. :)
When we left Sevierville we went to visit my niece, Stephanie, that lives in Minneapolis, N.C.. She fixed us up in a little cottage that was so cute and cozy. We loved it.
