round about

Well as usual we have been busy. On May 7th & 8th we were in Destin at our time share, Beach Street Cottages. We really had a nice time. We ate at Camille's, they served really good sushi and had a wonderful dessert, Tiramisu. The dessert was a real treat because we NEVER, do dessert. We had lost a few pounds so I guess that's why we indulged. I guess we are trying to find the few pounds :).. We went for a long walk on the beach that evening, not romantic, lol more for exercise. We walked so fast Jan rubbed a blister on his heel from the sand. lol it was kinda funny that happened. We did not see any evidence of the oil spill thank goodness. I did find a little plastic shovel buried in the sand so I brought it back for Jonas. He likes to dig in the sand at my house. It was a nice relaxing time. We also ate at "The Back Porch" again and loved the crab & shrimp dip they have for an appetizer. umm umm good. We just didn't have enough time to eat at all the resturant we wanted to eat at. Oh, I forgot "Another Broken Egg" for breakfast, it was great also. On Mothers Day, Jan & I shared the cinnamon roll french toast, that was a Mothers Day treat. It was delicious. We arrived home on Sunday and all the girls came over and we had ice-cream sundays. Wow now that I am writing this I see just how much I ate over the weekend. I guess it would pay to keep a food diary...maybe I would be thinner... you think.

We are gearing up for the BLUSH Dance Company recital. Jan has made the most amazing props. I chose well when I captured him for my husband.. He is so talented. I will try to post pictures of the props soon. Beka is busy getting things in order and trying to get her 3 yr olds to actually pay attention. I hope they dance SOME when they get on stage. I remember all my girls at that age. When they get up there they look at the audience and forget all that their dance teacher taught them. They are trying to find a familiar face in the sea of people looking at them. But who cares if they dance, they are always the star of the show because they are so darn cute.

I have been finding new friends lately on Facebook, well should they be new "old" friends, not that they are old, but that its been a long time since I talked to them. But one friend I was looking for never showed up on facebook so I started asking questions about her again. I had searched the internet in the past and call a couple of numbers to no avail. I asked Melaine about her again and she said that Marsha's daughter had modeled with Michelle W. and she might know where she was. Well I found Marsha in Jennings. Can you imagine... this girl was my best girlfriend in the 7th grade. I remember laughing a lot with her. We just seemed to hit it off really well and became good friends. She moved away and I never heard from her again. I still wonder why she didn't try to find me... but thats OK. We have reconnected and sharing stories about our grandchildren. We have yet to see each other face to face but we have plans to meet soon.

Ok will return to this later. I have to help Beka at Blush.

My family hosted twin girls from Russia in July 07, of course we love them so much. January and Patrick hosted them first in December 06 and wanted to adopt but because of the age difference they were told no. Patrick and January were two young to adopt the girls because the age difference was not enough. Of course they were heart broken. While the twins were here the family that host them are obligated to take them to see families that might be interested in adopting, so they did take them to several events where they met other families. Well we loved the girls so much we decided to adopt and hosted them in July 07. They came to us again and we feel as though they are part of our family. will finish this saga later...
