Beka's Wedding day

Up early getting ready for today.  Our baby girl is getting married.  It's going to be a really busy and emotional day for us all.  Beka is really all of our baby. 😍
She will be absolutely beautiful just like her two older sisters were on their wedding day.  I know we will all cry but we will get through it and be happy.  Well it's 6:38 and I have lots to do.  So bye for now and I will post wedding pictures later

Indian Pass

Watched another beautiful sunrise this morning.  We came over Friday evening in the motor home. This in a great campsite, right on the water.  The campground needs some maintenance  but as long as we get this site every time I can live with the roughness of the rest of it.
Jonas came with us this time and he always adds wonder and worry, lol, to our trips.  We enjoy things more with him.

Good Morning

Just sitting on the balcony watching the sun come up this morning.  It is so pretty and the ocean is calm this morning.  Jan asked me at 6am, do you want to see the sunrise and of course I did.  I love sunrises, I just don't usually like getting up early enough to see them.  I am a little surprised at how many people are actually out on the beach right now. It's beautiful this morning.

Birthday

Could it be that I am really 59 years old????  Oh my, how did it happen so fast?   I can remember looking at myself in the mirror when I was around 12 years old and trying to capture the memory, I guess it worked because I remember it.   Looking and thinking I want to remember this when I get old.  I remember that but there is tons I can't remember.  My family tells me things that I did, or they did that I should remember but I don't.  why is that???
I wonder how that all works, I guess its way beyond my brain capabilities.....????  Oh well I do take lots and lots of pictures so it helps me to remember the important things.   Like my family on birthdays and special occasions. Here is a picture of me on my birthday with my girls and all the grandkids.   I usually take pictures of everyone on their birthdays so I'll post one of Jan and the kids and grands. His birthday was the 5th.   Of course it is with us, as it is with most everyone.  Family is what makes our lives worth living.  We know where all GOOD THINGS come from and that is our HEAVENLY FATHER of course.  Praise GOD for all blessing.!!  :-).

Weekend trip

We needed to drive the motor home so we made a trip down to Cedar Key. It only takes about two hours to get here so we often choose this place.  The people here seem to want to work with you and try to give you the lot you want, of course I always want one with a view.  We have a little dock right here at the Motor home.    Oh, the RV Park is Sunset Isle RV Park, on the right, before you get into Cedar Key.
We decided to eat at the AdaBlue Cafe, which is right here at the place.  I had the mullet with onion rings, cole slaw, corn fritters and broccoli salad.  It was all really good.  The lady's cooking and serving aimed to please us.  They sent us samples of their potato salad, macaroni salad and their onion petals.  The onion petals were spicy and a little too hot for me but right up Jan's alley. We didn't leave hungry that's for sure.
It's raining this morning and I love the sound of the rain on the roof. It's nice to lay here in bed, not have to get up, and just stretch and listen to the rain.  Yawn.  Laying back down.😴😴😴😴

Etched Memories from days gone by

Most weekday mornings I am able to get out for an hour or so walk, mostly for the exercise, but also for peace of mind.  Along the road that I walk are lots of different sites.  There are fields of pine trees, which are real common in this area, there is an old church that we refer to as the black church but the building is actually white, which strikes me funny.  Also, along this road are friends and neighbors that date back many years.  There are also grape vines on fences and hanging in the trees.  But for this post, I am posting the memories that come from the corn fields that I look at every time I walk this road.

The corn fields lead me back to my childhood.  You see I was "raised up", as we southern people call the growing up process, on a farm in Suwannee County.  This county used to be a big farming community, not so much now, but I lived on a small farm north of town.  My family grew their own vegetables which was the norm back then.  We also grew tobacco, watermelons, peanuts and corn.  None of the crops were huge, because like I said, it was a small farming operation.   One year the corn crop was in front of our house, which had a front porch.  Me and my older sister, Molly, used to pretend that the cord stalks were our audience and we would sing to them. Molly was a much better singer than I was but the corn stalks didn't care.  We loved the Beatles and sang "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" and would pretend they were coming to see us. lol.   so funny to think back on silly things that we did as kids.   Also the corn field was a fun place to play hide and seek.   We used to run down the rows of corn and I can still hear the corn leaves hitting us making that swishing sound and at times the edge of the leaf would cut you if you hit it just right.  Once when I was about 7 years old we were gathering the corn.  Momma, Daddy and Rufus would grab the corn and cut if off the stalk with knives.  I was in the trailer that was being pulled by the tractor that Linda {my oldest sister) was driving for them, me and Molly was breaking off the corn tassels to play with them and Rufus decided he was going to chop it off with his knife before I could break it off, WELL, you know my hand got there just before the knife hit and he cut three leaders that go to my fingers on the top of my left hand.  Back in the day Mom was taught to use cobb webs to put gaping flesh back together, she picked me up and ran to the house with me and proceeded to put cob webs, on the cut on my hand so they could get me to the hospital.  Maybe the cob webs was suppose to help stop the bleeding also,  (I'll have to google that).  Well that was a corn field memory that is still very fresh in my mind and I have the scar to remind me every day of it.   Praise GOD above that I was able to use my hand after all the operations to fix it.  I mean this was 53 years or so ago and operations were not what they are today.   Guess the GREAT Doctor Hugo Sotolongo did a fine job.  He was also a pretty big part of some of my life memories, as he delivered my first baby (January Sky), and he gave me a VERY hard time about having Jan in the delivery room with us.  lol    Well on to more CORN memories.....

Often, when I was in the 7th grade, so guess I would be about 13 maybe,  I had to help Dad and Rufus when they went to pick corn for other people.  Guess that was a business my dad did.  I had to help drive one of the trucks to the fields.  I don't really remember all the details of why they had to have all the vehicles, guess they needed a pick-up to run errands cause the big truck had to haul the corn.  Anyway, I would drive the truck to the field and have to sit in the truck or at the truck all day while they ran the combine and picked acres of corn.   Once I remember having to drive the truck through town to the plant ? or wherever and it stalled on me at the main red-light, scared me to death, I didn't have a license or didn't really know much about driving.  I just did what daddy told me to do.
Well,  I got the truck started again and went on my way.   By the way, it was NOT an automatic.  Back then most were standard.
Well that's enough for now...memories will continue

Trike Trip 2013 recap

We returned home on Saturday afternoon about 5:00 pm under blue skies, thankfully.  The trip was quick but I enjoyed seeing the sites with a 360 degree view.  I mean from the back of the trike you can see everything.   I love to travel (right now I'm on the way to Orlando) and see this beautiful creation of the Almighty.  There is so much to see and so much history in the New England states.  The town of Skowheagan, ME was really interesting to me.

Nova Scotia 6.22.13

We've been on the road 6 days, made it to our final destination.  I thank GOD above for the safety HE has given.  This has been a good trip, not great because we ran into rain ☔ twice but of course even that could have advantages.  Lol.  One I can think of right now was one of the most gorgeous rainbows I have seen🌈 pictures always lack the reality

Two Ferry day

Well I'm riding on the back of the trike so this will be slow typing. I don't want to risk dropping my phone so one hand has a death grip on it.
We left Georgetown at 6:00 am headed for the Cedar Island Ferry.

BLUSH DANCE COMPANY presents Join the Circus

On June 1, 2013 Blush presented Join The Circus.  It was the 4th annual recital for Blush.  We started on Friday the 31st getting ready for the big show.  Jan took his crew out to start the transformation of Rumph Pavilion into the imaginary circus tent.   We really appreciate everyone chipping in and helping with all the ladder climbing, duct taping, floor sweeping and all the other "stuff" that had to be done. We also want to thank everyone that helped with drinks, popcorn, cleaning and all the other jobs that were involved with putting on the show.  :)  Many, Many  thanks to all the parents, grandparents that bring your child to dance every week.
